Constantin-Marius Bujorescu has been working as a pigeon fancier member in Târgu Jiu since 2004 and, in 2010, together with his father, he formed the “Bujorescu Marius + Father” Tandem, from which he inherited his passion for pigeons. It has a farm consisting of 7 compartments, located in the middle of the distance between Târgu Jiu and Craiova and among the Romanian pigeon lovers it is identified by the unique ways in which it trains its pigeons and by the important places obtained at competitions, which it added to its record.

In June, at the Bilgoraj stage, you obtained the 1st place. What can you tell us about the competition and about the winning pigeon?

The competition took place on June 25. This was the first stage in Poland for Gorj, after a 10-year break, because he never flew there. It was a long-awaited stage. The winner is a male - the pigeon series is 1175051-14. It's a male called "Lazy" - that's because he was very lazy in Ukraine; that is, he ranks, but always after the middle of the rankings. Only two birds came to Gorj on the first day at this stage. The same pigeon is the first in the history of Gorj that flies to Tartu International and ranks - 1525 km.

When did you reach the pigeon-loving performance and where did you inherit this passion from?

I started in 1997, when I was 9 years old - but we can say that then I only started raising pigeons. It's a family heritage pigeon fancier - my grandfather was the first to have pigeons in this area, where I live. He was the headmaster of the school in Căpreni, Gorj and he died when my father was 9 years old and told him to take care of the pigeons. When I was 9 years old, he brought me pigeons and that's how I started - in '97. I have been an active pigeon fancier since 2004. The first results appeared in 2009, when I was champion in the county in general - the year in which I also got my first electronic watch. Until then, I won and my stage was canceled, with the mechanical ones. In 2009 I was champion in general and, as far as I remember, also runner-up in half distance. Then, in 2010, they stole my pigeons - the whole flight lot. I started again in 2014, 2015 and 2016 - when I did about 100 marathon rules.

What are your favorite stages?

Those from 1000 km upwards, 1000+ - those of extreme marathon.

How many pigeons do you have in the flight group now?

I start with about 40 pigeons.

How do you select them? Do you have pigeons from famous breeders?

The first marathon pigeons come from Galae Marian, Moanta Toni and Frații Marica. Later we bought descendants of originals of: Janssen, Carteus, Limburg, Helmond, Batenburg, Denys, Theelen, Vereecke, Desmet, Jellema, Wijnands, Kastelijn, Kipp, Paessen, Velden, Wegen and Hermes. From the country, we brought directly or indirectly brothers, grandchildren or children directly from champions from Butucanu, Cobzaru, Preda Gheorghe, brothers Marica Andrei and Marius, Mantescu Răzvan, Voinea + Nando, Cazacu Alexandru, Posirca Constantin, Dumitrache Marian, Staicu C. Simionescu + Schinteie, Luci Caploiu, Nita Ionel, Stefan Family, Chirica Cornel, Munteanu Vasile, Peto Ianos, Carasel Mihai, Gorun Paul, Preda Ion and Olteanu Cosmin.

I focused a lot on the pigeons from the '80s and' 90s in Romania and they still go - at least to me. I have from the winner from Moscow - Moanta Toni, who is the winner of Oltenia at Tartu International now, after so many years - after 12 years he wins and Tartu Leneș, my pigeon, is 75% from him. I'm glad I'm the first to bring it from Tartu.

Do you have any special training that you do before the big stages? Do pigeons fly certain roads?

Before each marathon stage I try to drive them, personally, to 50-60 km - in the morning as early as possible and in the evening as late as possible; at least 2-3 workouts of this kind.

What flight system do you practice?

Naturally, until this year - this year I started with widowhood, but when I went out on Poland I went back to natural. I consider it the best way to compete successfully in stages over 1000 km. As for the puppies, I'm weirder - I take them live 150 km at the first training - the dust is chosen; if it's raining, so much the better. The 2013 champion went through these strange trainings, but I was also lucky that the pigeons came home, a catastrophe could happen.

In terms of products, how long have you been using Beyers?

From this year.

What do you have from Beyers?

We only have products, because we haven't been able to bring food to Gorj yet. We used, among others, Bioflorum Plus, Energy Oil, Vitamin Plus, Electrolit Plus, Condition Plus and Herba Zyma.

Do you notice any changes in the pigeons?

Yes, there is a big difference in recovery. I used, following the advice of those from pigeons360.ro, this combination Electrolit with Herba Zyma with Amino Plus - and the pigeons recover much better. In recent years I have used products from all companies available on the Romanian market but since 2017 I have tried the whole range of Beyers products (the difference is huge). With Beyers products the pigeons look after the stages as if they had not flown (I recommend with confidence).
