Between November 30 and December 1, 2019, in the locality of Dărmănești, Bacău, the second edition of the U.C.P.R. Regional Exhibition, E-SE area, took place, an exhibition in which the Porumbei360 team received the invitation to participate this year as well.

An excellent pigeon fancier event put into practice by the organizing team, which brilliantly fulfilled its tasks, especially since the second day of the exhibition coincided this year with the celebration of Romania's national day.

In a welcoming, festive atmosphere, over 500 visitors had the opportunity to see exposed the best pigeons of Moldova in all distance categories, including the winners of the national derby stages. Valuable pigeons, large audience, stands with complementary products, good cheer among the participants in the festive meal, so all the ingredients needed for a successful event.

At the end of the first day of the exhibition, before the award ceremony, Mr. Cosmin Constantinescu, one of the main organizers of the event, gave us a short interview.

Mr. Constantinescu, together with your colleagues you organized a successful exhibition, which exceeded our expectations, with a large audience and in a pleasant atmosphere. I would like to ask you first what were the difficulties you encountered this year in organizing the event?

First of all, the designation of the pigeons because we were exposed to 560 pigeons, a fairly large number, from all over the east and south-east of the country, from Botoșani to Ialomița. Secondly, we had to keep in touch with all the sports technicians and the presidents of the pigeon clubs for the designation of the pigeons, which is not easy. But I overcame these difficulties brilliantly and everything went well. The exhibition sheets were made by Mr. Banu Constantin, responsible for the ranking program of the Union of Professional Pigeon Fellows in Romania. The exhibition boxes were also made available to us by the Union and, for the rest, our work, of the organizing team.

How long did it take to prepare this exhibition?

We started a month ago because the designation of pigeons and the establishment of the exhibition hierarchy is a long process. But the actual arrangement of the hall and the distribution of the pigeons in the pits lasted only one day.

What can you tell us about the location where the exhibition was held?

As you know, it's the same gym I used last year. It was not rented to us, but offered free of charge by the city hall of Dărmănești, in collaboration with Mrs. Vâlcu Nicoleta, the director of the Secondary School No. 2 Dărmănești. We are a community that helps us in the projects we undertake and hence the success of our efforts. The inaugural speech was given by Mr. Buzatu Mihai, Deputy Mayor of Dărmănești, and the Mayor Constantin Toma will also be present at the awards ceremony.

Are you satisfied with the participation? I noticed that many people were present here today.

Yes, very satisfied. Compared to last year, I think they stepped on our doorstep by more than 200 visitors, estimating a number of 500 people. Not bad for a regional exhibition and we hope that every year from now on will bring an improvement in this regard.

This year, what has been the biggest organizational challenge for you?

All went well because I had a team of competent people around me, most of them being members of the pigeon club where I also work. And when people get involved and take an interest, the challenges are easily overcome.

From a personal point of view, what goal have you set for the future?

The number one goal I set out to achieve will be to set up a pigeon loft in the area. The project has already started and I want to open it in mid-March. For starters, a capacity of 500 pigeons, housed in a module of 12 x 4 meters. The Columbodrome will be called "At the Gates of Nemira" because we border the Nemira Mountains, which are the highest and best known in the area. Related to the national championship in which I participate as a UCPR member, I dealt more with the organizational part at the club level. If 3 years ago, in 2016, we barely counted 20 members, now we are 70 members competing. So progress can be seen. Like this exhibition, which last year started with a game, from our desire to have a pigeon fancier event in the area of ​​Moldova to represent us and which, here, this year comes with an obvious qualitative leap.
